Trends in decorating are a factor to consider when valuing your Lane cedar chest. Due to the growing interest in retro decor, we are seeing an increased demand for mid-20th century Danish modern chests from the 1960s and '70s. Also from this era, although difficult to find due to their short production run, are the slant-sided dough box style chests which are popular with those who prefer a more primitive motif.
This year’s bazaar is a furniture festival, offering many different items, some modern, some antique. Shoppers can chose from handsome sofas, armchairs, marble-topped side tables, an antique cedar chest, numerous lamps, various sized mirrors, a dining room table with six chairs, file cabinets and much more. Also on sale will be an exercise bike, microwaves, jewelry, lots of paintings, a big selection of linens and artificial flower arrangements.
Most of the deaths occurred in Lane cedar chests, said Scott Wolfson, communications directorfor the commission. The commission issued warnings about the chest in 1996, 2000 and 2006.
